McLaughlin was sworn-in as a CASA Volunteer in 2008. Since that time, she has advocated on two cases and has helped find permanency for two children. In her current case, McLaughlin has gone above and beyond the expectations of a CASA volunteer. "Barbara has played an integral role in finding permanency for the little boy on her case,” said McLaughlin’s Case Supervisor Jillian Ryan. "Barbara has received rave reviews from all the professionals involved in the case and because of her diligence a little boy will finally find a forever family.”
McLaughlin brings to CASA her experiences as a mother of four and a grandmother of six as well as her skills as a Contact Crisis Volunteer. When McLaughlin applied to be a CASA she wrote, "I realize how important it is for a child to have someone who has their best interest as their primary goal. I really feel I can make a difference in a child’s life.”
CASA staff and Board of Trustees thank Barbara for her dedication to the children of Atlantic and Cape May County.
